This episode list contains all episodes of the American television series Buffy the Vampire Slayer , sorted according to the sequence resulting from the story arc, which, with one exception, corresponds to the US American premiere . Between 1997 and 2003, 144 episodes were created in seven seasons, each about 42 minutes in length.
