Bulnes is a municipality in the South American Andean state of Chile . It is located south of the city of Chillán in the Ñuble region . Bulnes has an area of 425.4 km² and has 20,502 inhabitants. The city was named after the Chilean politician Manuel Bulnes Prieto .
