The federal working group of seminar and subject leaders e. V. (BAK Lehrerbildung) represents the interests of seminar and subject leaders in the second phase of teacher training in Germany as a nationwide association . H. the Magisterium clerkship and teacher preparation service . It is divided into 16 regional associations, each with a state spokesperson.

Structure and goals

The BAK is the nationwide professional association of trainers in the second phase of teacher training (legal clerkship). It currently has more than 2000 members who work at around 400 teacher training institutes (seminars) as seminar and subject leaders or lecturers. The BAK is present at most seminars in Germany.

The main aim of the BAK is to promote the quality of teacher training and schools and to optimize the working conditions of those involved in teacher training. The BAK supports the exchange of information and the cooperation of the seminars and their members, the further training of teacher trainers and teachers as well as initiatives for the development of teacher training and schools. To ensure this,

  • he carries out educational policy activities, holds talks and negotiations with educational policy bodies and education authorities,
  • conducts an annual federal congress on current topics in teacher training and
  • publishes the quarterly magazine SEMINAR -Lehrerbildung und Schule .

The BAK is divided into sixteen regional associations, which in turn initiate regionally relevant initiatives and organize events at the regional level.

Members

The members work as full-time or part-time teacher trainers in the study seminars . They are lecturers in the main pedagogical seminars or specialist seminars. In the 2nd state examination you will work as an examiner. They often see themselves as mediators between academic pedagogy at universities and school practice. The association represents all types of schools.

Act

Since 1994, the association has published a four-times-a-year journal, Seminar - Lehrerbildung und Schule, published by Schneider Verlag Hohengehren . Once a year it organizes an annual congress (2012 in Cologne , 2013 in Bremen , 2014 in Berlin , 2015 in Oldenburg , 2016 in Leipzig , 2017 in Bad Salzdetfurth , 2018 in Gießen, 2019 in Kaiserslautern, 2020 canceled) on current issues of teacher training and others Symposia.
