The Federal Institute for Social Education and Elementary Education St. Pölten , or BASOP / BAfEP St. Pölten in Lower Austria, is a vocational secondary school.
history
The school building was built from 1976 to 1978 as a new building according to the plans of the architect Paul Pfaffenbichler (1925–2003).
Educational institutions
The BASOP / BAfEP St. Pölten includes different school types.
BASOP and BAfEP (formerly BAKIP) are higher schools with matura ( Matura ) and diploma exams (specialist qualifications). The graduation takes place with Matura (without Latin). The course lasts 5 years. Anyone who has completed the AHS lower level or the 4th grade of a new middle school or secondary school can be accepted . An aptitude test is required.
In addition, the school runs a college (technical diploma for high school graduates), a course (professional development) and an institute for adult education .
- Federal Training Institute for Elementary Education (BAfEP, formerly BAKIP)
The training goal of elementary education is the professional qualification for educational tasks in kindergarten and after- school care.
In addition to the usual subjects, musically creative subjects (music education, guitar, flute or accordion, rhythmic-musical education, art education, craft education, physical education, instrument making), subject-specific objects ( education including psychology, sociology, philosophy, curative and special education , didactics pedagogy) and practical training (half- day internship per week, practical weeks in the in-house practice kindergarten as well as in visiting kindergartens ).
Additional training to become an after-school teacher is possible; early education is integrated into the new curriculum for elementary education.
- Federal Institute for Social Education (BASOP)
BASOP is a school for social education . The curriculum is similar to BAfEP, but is based on the specific requirements of the socio-educational field.
- College for Social Pedagogy (SPK, SKB)
Two types of college are currently offered, the regular form (4 semesters) and the part-time college (6 semesters). The conclusion is the diploma examination for social pedagogy. The standard form is a day course with full instruction, the 6-semester form takes place in block instruction.
Prerequisites are Matura, vocational qualification or university entrance qualification test . Relevant professional activity is credited towards the internship.
The college classes are located in the Expositur , the former building of the Social Academy (SozAk), next to the main building of the BRG / BORG St. Pölten.
- College for Elementary Education (KKB)
Part-time college (6 semesters). The conclusion is the diploma examination for kindergarten pedagogy. In the 6-semester form, the courses take place in block lessons.
Prerequisites are Matura, vocational qualification or university entrance qualification test .
- Course for Inclusive Elementary Education (SOKI)
Entry requirement is the qualification test for kindergarten teachers or the maturity and diploma examination for kindergarten pedagogy. The training concludes with the diploma examination for special kindergartens and early intervention .
- Institute for Adult Education at BASOP / BAfEP (IfEB)
The courses and courses for adults in the job-specific area of social and elementary education usually last 2 semesters and are held in the form of block lessons on 6 weekends per semester.
- Practice kindergarten and practice center
The kindergarten and the after-school care center offer around 100 places for children between the ages of 2½ and 14 years.
