The Federal Police Act ( BPolG ) regulates the tasks and legal status of the Federal Police (formerly the Federal Border Police )
The law is divided into five sections. Section 1 (Articles 1 to 13) regulates the tasks and uses of the Federal Police. So in addition to the one border protection , the protection of railway facilities , the air traffic and organs of the federal as well as the prosecution of crimes and misdemeanors as well as the security measures on board aircraft.
Section 2 (§§ 14 to 50) contains the associated powers and regulations on the responsibility of so-called interferers , for the direct execution and the use of non-interferers. In addition to the general clause of Section 14, Sections 21 to 50 contain standard measures.
The third section (Sections 51 to 56) regulates compensation for damages. Section 4 (Sections 57 to 68) regulates the organization and the respective responsibilities . These provisions regulate, in particular, the delegation of tasks to customs , as they carry out police checks at many border crossings. Finally, Section 5 contains final provisions in Sections 69 and 70.
