Friedrichstein Castle

The castle Friedrich Stein (Slovenian degree Fridrihštajn ) is a ruined castle on the mountain in the area Stim Kočevje , under Carniola , in what is now Slovenia . The hill fort is located in Gottscheer Land , a former German- speaking island that emerged from a fiefdom of the Upper Carinthian county of Ortenburg in the 14th and 15th centuries.

history

The castle was built in the early 15th century (between 1423 and 1425) by Friedrich II , the son of Count Hermann II von Cilli , for his lover Veronika von Deschenitz , with whom he was against after the death of his first wife Elizabeta Frankopanska Will his father was married.

Current condition
