Hüngersdorf Castle

The castle Hüngersdorf is an Outbound castle in the same district of the municipality Blankenheim in the district of Euskirchen in North Rhine-Westphalia.

The so-called castle in Hüngersdorf was without a doubt a typical castle house of the area, which may only have differed from comparable feudal farms in terms of its size and the associated land holdings. It was the seat of the family of the same name, attested for the period from 1297 to 1404, a further probably insignificant sex of country noblemen.

Since Hüngersdorf was part of the Duchy of Jülich until 1725 , it can be assumed that it was a Jülisches fiefdom .

Herzog locates the castle house in the immediate vicinity of the Hüngersdorf chapel. However, such is only documented for the year 1536.
