Ripsdorf Castle

The castle Ripsdorf is an Outbound castle in the same district of the municipality Blankenheim in the district of Euskirchen in North Rhine-Westphalia .

The so-called castle in Ripsdorf, like the neighboring one in Hüngersdorf, was without a doubt a typical castle house of the area, which differed from comparable fiefs only in its size and the associated land. It was the seat of the Lords of Ripsdorf, first mentioned in 1260 with Arnold von Ripsdorf. Further news on the history or the situation is missing.

Ripsdorf was part of the Duchy of Jülich until 1725 , it can be assumed that it was a Jülisches fiefdom .
