Reetz Castle

The castle Reetz is a castle in the same district of the municipality Blankenheim in the district of Euskirchen in North Rhine-Westphalia, Long Busch 8th

Little news is available about the history of the house. At least for the early 16th century, however, a representative of the simple landed nobility is proven in Jakob von Roetz. The name Haus von der Marck , which is also common in popular parlance, can be traced back to the owner, the Duke of Arenberg . In the 18th century the property was then called Meyershof , which had been given to a Matthias Keller as a fief by the Duke of Arenberg.

The so-called castle in Reetz, like comparable facilities in the neighboring towns, was a typical castle house that differed from other feudal farms only in terms of its size and the associated land. According to Herzog, the two-storey castle house made of quarry stone can be dated to the 16th century.

The castle building was registered on July 15, 1988 as monument no. 121 in part A of the list of monuments of the municipality of Blankenheim.
