As Castle Nonnenfelsen a former is Outbound hilltop castle on the same rock formation in Schwarzwassertal near Pobershau in Erzgebirge referred. The complex was probably built in the 12th or 13th century.

Description and history

The remains of the weir system are on an east-facing rock spur in the area of the Nonnenfelsen, above a loop of the Schwarzen Pockau. Due to its location, it can be counted as a spur castle type .

The plant had an irregularly oval core plant . This was limited by the natural shape of the rock cliff, on the northwest, west and southwest sides by dry stones to enlarge the natural shape.

The core plant plateau has an area of around 15 by 13 meters. A trench six to eight meters wide and two to a maximum of four meters deep runs in front of it from the northwest over the south side to the south .

It can be assumed that a tower belonged to the defense system. This is based on finds of charcoal and red-colored, bricked clay under the sward. In 1992, shards of medieval vessels were also recovered from the turf, which, due to their material properties , can be classified as landscape- bound earthenware of the Ore Mountains. The dating of the origin of the facility is also based on these finds. It can thus be associated with the development of the state in the Ore Mountains from the middle of the 12th to the middle of the 13th century.
