geography
The ruins of the hilltop castle are located a good kilometer northwest of the village Pulkov at 393 m nm on the left side above the Rokytná valley within the Rokytná nature park in the Jevišovická pahorkatina ( Jaispitzer hill country ). Surrounding villages are Radkovice in the north, Radkovice u Hrotovic in the northeast, Litovany and Biskupice in the east, Pulkov and Pulkovský Mlýn in the southeast, Rozkoš in the south, Kyničky and Hostim in the southwest, Dvorek and Ohrazenice in the west and Blatnice and Příštpo in the northwest.
history
The remains of the castle were discovered in the wooded terrain in 1985 and named after the nearby village of Pulkov.
The original name of the castle is no longer known. It could possibly be Urbanice, Dalibořice or the locality Holawich, which belonged to the Znojmo provost in 1252 .
description
The castle was built on a low rock spur above the Rokytná valley. The system had a trapezoidal floor plan of 26 by 20 meters. On three sides it was surrounded by walls up to twelve meters wide and one and a half meters high. To the south it was protected by rocks.
A minor subsidence was found on the site, which was probably created after the castle was built. Small remains of the wall have been preserved on the north side.
