Burghard Schloemann

Burghard Schloemann (born February 21, 1935 in Witten ) is a German church musician , composer and organist .

Schloemann studied church music in Esslingen am Neckar , Stuttgart and Rome . His composition teacher was Johann Nepomuk David . He attended advanced courses with Karlheinz Stockhausen , György Ligeti and Mauricio Kagel .

From 1961 to 1982 he was cantor at the St. Johannis church in Halle (Westphalia) and lecturer at the Herford College of Church Music . He is the founder of the Hall Bach Days. In 1967 he received the Goethe Foundation Prize in Basel. In 1969 he was given the title of church music director . From 1991 to 2000 Schloemann taught as a professor at the Herford University.

He lives in Herford . Schloemann composed cantatas , motets , wind pieces, organ works and a symphony .
