The Postal Ulrichsberg is an Outbound medieval hilltop castle on the mountain in Ulrichsberg , in the municipality of Grafling in the district of Deggendorf in Bavaria .

The former castle chapel , today's pilgrimage church of Ortisei , remains of the castle complex and the remains of the wall and the ditch on the eastern and northern slopes of the mountain have been preserved.

The castle was built in the 15th century by the lords of Deggendorf , who came from the Swabian noble family of Goshammer and were related to the Count of Dillingen. The name Ulrichsberg arose from the relationship between the von Dillingen and Bishop Ulrich of Augsburg .
