The Offenberg Castle is in Lower Bavaria Offenberg on a 346 meter high foothills of the Bavarian forest , which stands 50 meters above the surrounding area. The Danube is about two kilometers away.

history

The history of the castle and its lords can be traced back to the middle of the 14th century. The steep hillside to the west and south, the two wide trenches, the outer towers and ring structures indicate that the system was originally designed as a defense structure . From 1700 the castle got its current three-wing shape with an arcade courtyard and a castle chapel.
