Burkersroda is the name of a Thuringian noble family that belongs to the ancient nobility and is of the same tribe as von Hessler . The spelling of the family name varies. There are also the name forms Burckhartsrode , Borgersrode , Borkersrode and Bukersroda .

history

This family originally came from Burkersrode near Eckartsberga . They are first mentioned in a document when the Counts of Orlamünde and Lords of Weimar handed over the villages of Dietrichsroda, Pleißmar , Burkersroda , Friedrichroda and Harta as fiefs to Hans, Christoph, Wolf and Heinrich, brothers of Burkersroda. Subsequently, 1144 Volknant de Burkhartrod appears. The family line begins with Friedrich von Burkersroda , mentioned in 1487, Herr auf Starsiedel .

They are related to the tribal and coat of arms of the nobles von Laucha and von Hessler .
