He founded the Mallersdorf monastery in 1109 and was the founder of the first educational institution in this region, a school embedded in the monastery. He died in 1122. With the naming of the school, the aim was to succeed this cultural and school tradition.

School development

The decision in favor of the Mallersdorf-Pfaffenberg location was intended to reduce the urban-rural educational gap. In addition, there was still a large gap in the Bavarian high school network in the Landshut - Straubing - Regensburg triangle . In autumn 1973, 92 new registrations began in rooms that had been made available by the Pfaffenberg community. Construction of a new grammar school began in 1975 under the first director Angela Höferer, the main building was built in 1982 under the second director Rudolf Enghofer. In the following years the school saw a rapid increase in student numbers. That is why expansion plans were drawn up. In 1996 the north extension (new classrooms / chemistry rooms) was added. Under the third headmaster, Friedrich Heglmeier, the expansion section east (new auditorium / music halls) was completed in 1997. At the end of 2001, the old teachers' room was modernized and a basement was added. With the introduction of the eight-year high school , new rooms for lunch and afternoon care had become necessary. Under the fourth headmaster, Martin Hobmeier, the cafeteria, serving kitchen and an additional lounge with 180 seats, study and work rooms, a special room for business informatics and another modern computer room were created. In the 2009/2010 school year, the grammar school underwent a comprehensive energetic renovation. The external evaluation in 2006 placed the focus on pedagogical and didactic aspects in the following years: The introduction of a monthly "class lesson" grew out of this, as did the annual student survey on the date of the interim report, which aims to improve the quality of the school.
