The Burkitt Nunatak is a small and 1200 m high nunatak in Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . It rises 15 km west-southwest of the Crescent Scarp in the northwest section of the Dyer Plateau .
The British Antarctic Survey carried out a survey of glaciological work between 1980 and 1981. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee named it after David Michael Burkitt (* 1944), a survey employee who had previously participated in an expedition to Elephant Island from 1970 to 1971 .
