The Dyer Plateau is a wide plateau in the center of the northern Palmerland on the Antarctic Peninsula . It is bounded north by the Fleming and Bingham Glaciers and south by the Gutenko Mountains .
First explorations and photographic documentation of the area were made by scientists from the East Base of the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939-1941). The plateau is named after the geodesist James Glenn Dyer (1908–1994), member of the expedition and leader of the team who went on an exploratory trip between the Fleming Glacier and the Welch Mountains in dog sleds . From 1956 to 1957 Dyer also took part in one of the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions .
