burn is an energy drink from the beverage manufacturer " The Coca-Cola Company ". Sales have taken place in Europe and Japan since 2002. The energy drink is characterized above all by its red color, allura red AC, and its relatively high sugar and taurine content . It contains potassium sorbate and sodium benzoate as preservatives . Another ingredient is glucuronolactone . The filling quantity is 0.25 liters. The design of the can are two flames on a black background, under which the lettering burn is shown. Since August 10, 2009, burn has also been sold in Austria in a resealable aluminum can with a capacity of 485 ml. After the market launch in Germany in 2002, many retailers listed beverage cans again due to the introduction of the one-way deposit, including burn. Highly concentrated burn shots in 50 ml PET bottles have been available in Austria since August 31, 2009. These contain 80 mg of caffeine, 4 to 5 times as much as in a comparable amount of other commercially available energy drinks. The ingredients of burn Energy Shots are: water, sugar, acidifier citric acid & sodium citrate , taurine, aroma, caffeine, glucuronolactone, stabilizer: sodium hexaphosphate, preservative potassium sorbate & sodium benzoate , color caramel , vitamins B3, B5, B6, B12, inositol - , guaraná Extract, sweetener E955 .

According to information from the Austrian Agency for Health and Food Safety (AGES), the so-called energy shots are not energy drinks in the traditional sense, but food supplements.
