The Bursey Icefalls are a glacier break in Marie Byrd Land in West Antarctica . In the Flood Range they drain the north slope of Mount Bursey .
The United States Geological Survey mapped it based on its own measurements and aerial photographs of the United States Navy from 1959 to 1965. The Advisory Committee on Antarctic Names named it in 1974 based on the name of Mount Bursey. Its namesake is Jacob Bursey (1903-1980), participant in the Byrd Antarctic Expedition (1928-1930) and dog sled driver during the United States Antarctic Service Expedition (1939-1941), in which he reached the western end of the Flood Range in December 1940 .
