Bus Simulator 18 is a bus - simulator , which developed by Still Alive Studios and Astragon Entertainment for Microsoft Windows , PlayStation 4 and Xbox One was released. Bus Simulator 18 is based on Unreal Engine 4 and was first available worldwide on June 13, 2018.

Gameplay

Bus Simulator 18 contains a large map of a fictional modern city that consists of twelve districts and is 2.5 times larger than the map of Bus Simulator 16 . The game allows players to drive eight licensed vehicles from five different bus manufacturers, including Iveco Bus , MAN , Mercedes-Benz , Neoplan and Setra , ranging from low-floor buses to articulated buses . Like its predecessor, the game also uses a procedural generation system in which players have to complete various missions to unlock new districts. In terms of management, players can create their own bus routes, as well as buy, sell and upgrade buses.

Development and publication

The game was announced in May 2018. It was developed by Stillalive Studios and published by Astragon Entertainment. Compared to Bus Simulator 16 used Bus Simulator 18 the Unreal Engine 4 , which supports a significantly improved graphics. Bus Simulator 18 was first released for Microsoft Windows on June 13, 2018. The modding and multiplayer mode was first introduced in the Bus Simulator series. PlayStation 4 and Xbox One versions were available later in August 2019. A map expansion was released in May 2019.

reception

According to the rating aggregator Metacritic, Bus Simulator 18 received “mixed or average” ratings.

Shacknews' Chris Jarrard gave the game a 6 and wrote, "Bus Simulator 18 is not a game changer and to be honest, it's not the most rewarding experience I've ever had in front of my PC." He had three main problems with the game - a lack of content, multiplayer bugs, and a boring campaign.

Impulse Gamer's Chris O'Connor rated it 4 out of 5. He thought the game was quite relaxing, but he didn't think its content was deep enough.

Alec Meer from Rock, Paper, Shotgun enjoyed the atmosphere in the game, which is so great that he would even love to become a bus driver. He says: "Bus Simulator 18 leaves a deep compassion for bus drivers and a great horror that I might ever become one."

Andy Kelly of PC Gamer compared the game to the video game of the similar genre Euro Truck Simulator 2 from SCS Software and commented that the game may not be as good as Truck Simulator, but it is full of interaction, which is what the Truck Simulator franchise lacks.
