The Catholic Buttermarktkapelle in Adenau , a town in the Ahrweiler district ( Rhineland-Palatinate ), was built around 1800 and is located on the corner of Hauptstrasse and Mittelbachstrasse. The the Archangel Michael consecrated chapel is a protected cultural monument .

Clemen writes that the chapel was built in 1839. However, this date of construction cannot be proven in the sources. The 6.44 m long and 4.03 m wide hall building is located in the oldest district of Adenau, the butter market .

The simple, rectangular building has a double-door portal with a lead glass window above. On the gable roof , a sitting skylights with a bell. The portal side is designed with a half-timbered gable .

The stone altar inside is new. The room with a flat ceiling can accommodate six wooden benches.
