Bylany (German Püllna , older also Bylené , Bielne , Biln , Billna , Pilna ) is a desert in the Okres Most in the Czech Republic . The village was located about seven kilometers southwest of the city of Most . Bylany is managed as a basic settlement unit of the municipality Malé Březno .

history

The area was already around 50 years BC in Roman times. Settled, some finds date from the Stone Age (2700 to 2300 BC).

In 1203 the village was first mentioned in the documents of the Ossegg monastery . In 1620 the community acquired Bohuslav von Michelsberg (Bohuslav z Michalovce) for a short time, but due to his participation in the uprising he lost all property, which was returned to the monastery, which it kept until 1848.

Since the 17th century, the inhabitants lived mainly from agriculture, partly from wine growing, and later from growing hops. In 1820 the discovered healing water springs were acquired by the Ulbrich family, who built a spa house and exported the water to other European countries. More and more residents settled in the health resort. From the original 20 in the 17th century, the number increased to 147 in 1861 and to 209 in 1930. The majority of the residents were German. After the Second World War, the population finally fell to 68 in 1974. In Bylany there was the Church of St. Leopold (1862).

The village was liquidated in the years after 1978. Its corridors are now part of Malé Březno .
