Bzí (German Nabsel ) is a district of Železný Brod in Okres Jablonec nad Nisou in northern Bohemia. It is located about three kilometers northwest of Železný Brod. 116 addresses are registered (as of 2009). In 2001 the place had 289 inhabitants.
history
The village was first mentioned in writing in 1346. The original name of the village was "Nábzí". Bzí was the oldest parish village in the Upper Pojizeří area, and in the 17th century Bzí was an ecclesiastical administrative center for the entire area of Jablonec and Železný Brod.
Personalities
One of the most famous former residents is the scientist Josef Paldus , mathematician, born on November 25, 1935 in Bzí.
