César Andrés Carignano (born September 28, 1982 in Freyre ) is an Italian - Argentine football player . He plays in the position of the striker.

Carignano began his career at the Colón de Santa Fe . In 2004 he moved to FC Basel . His career is currently being hampered again and again by new protracted injuries. In January 2007 he was loaned to the Mexican Club América . At the start of the 2007/08 season, he was brought back to the city on the Rhine and is part of the U-21 team at FC Basel. In January 2008, his contract with FC Basel was terminated at Carignano's request, and Carignano moved back to Colón de Santa Fe.
