CIA (Abbreviation for Church of Independent Assholes ) was a short-lived German-speaking punk band of the two former Slime members Dirk Jora and Michael Mayer.

Band history

After Slime broke up for the second time in 1994, Mayer started his own band Elf . Then he decided to start a new project with Dirk Jora. There were also Thomas Minnerop (later Rubbermaids ), John Newman from Wales (later session bassist at Middle Class Fantasies ) and Oliver Rosthal (ex- crashing carrier pigeons , ex- hour X ). Marco Gödde ( cheerful to cloudy ) joined the band as the second singer . CIA was signed by Noise Records . The first album, codenamed Freibeuter, was finished and was waiting for its release. A tour took place to promote it, but shortly before the start, Noise postponed the release of the record and the tour flopped. Frustrated, the members broke up the band. The album was released after the tour.
