C. Frederick Splendor

Charles Frederick Pracht (born October 20, 1880 in Pitman , Schuylkill County , Pennsylvania , †  December 22, 1950 in Philadelphia , Pennsylvania) was an American politician . Between 1943 and 1945 he represented the state of Pennsylvania in the US House of Representatives .

Career

Frederick Pracht attended the public schools in his homeland. He then worked in the toy industry and haberdashery business between 1897 and 1914. From 1915 to 1929 he worked in various functions in the district administration. He then held other local offices until 1942. Politically, he joined the Republican Party . From 1904 he was a member of the regional party executive, which he later chaired for 25 years.

In the 1942 congressional election , Pracht was elected to the United States House of Representatives in Washington, DC , in the fifth constituency of Pennsylvania , where he succeeded Democrat Francis R. Smith on January 3, 1943 . Since he was not confirmed in 1944, he was only able to serve one term in Congress until January 3, 1945 . This was shaped by the events of the Second World War .

After his time in the US House of Representatives, Frederick Pracht withdrew from politics. He died in Philadelphia on December 22, 1950.
