C. George Boeree
C. George Boeree (born January 15, 1952 in Badhoevedorp near Amsterdam , Netherlands ) is an American psychologist and professor emeritus at Shippensburg University . His specialties are personality theory and the history of psychology .
Life
Boeree moved to the United States with his family in 1956 . There he grew up mainly in Long Island . He received his bachelor's degree from Pennsylvania State University . This was followed by a master’s degree and a doctorate in 1980 from Oklahoma State University . All degrees were in psychology .
In 1972 he married Judy Kovarick ; the marriage had three children.
He currently lives with his family in Cumberland , Pennsylvania .
Act
He is the author of the first online texts on psychology, which he has made available to interested professionals and lay audiences since 1997. The texts on his homepage have been translated into German , French , Bulgarian and into other languages, such as the treatise on personality theory by Ludwig Binswanger .
Boeree is also the inventor of the planned language Lingua Franca Nova .
His research interests include emotions and affects , ethics , evolution, and personality theories .
