CJ Prosise (* 20th May 1994 in Petersburg , Virginia ) is an American American football player at the position of running back . He played college football for Notre Dame . In the 2016 NFL Draft , he was selected by the Seattle Seahawks in the third round.
High school
Prosise attended Woodberry Forest School in Madison County , where he acted as wide receiver and safety . Rivals.com rated him as a three-star talent in the safety position, prompting him to choose from a variety of athletic scholarship offers for that of the University of Notre Dame .
college
After he had suspended his first year at college in 2012, he was used in all 13 Fighting Irish games in 2013 as a wide receiver and in the special teams . As a sophomore, he got 29 pass catches for 516 yards and two touchdowns . Before the next season he was transferred to the position of running back and after the actual starter Tarean Folston was injured, Prosise became a regular player. In his second game from the start, he ran 198 yards and three touchdowns against Georgia Tech . He finished the season with 1,032 yards and eleven touchdowns in the running game as well as 308 yards and a touchdown by passing catches. After the Irish lost to the Ohio State Buckeyes in the Fiesta Bowl , Prosise announced that he would take part in the 2016 NFL Draft and thus forego another year at college.
NFL
Prosise was in the NFL Draft in 2016 in the third round to 90th place by the Seattle Seahawks selected and signed on 6 May 2016 a four-year contract for 3,427,000 US dollars . However, Prosise struggled with injuries in its first three seasons. The season 2018 he finished even with -3 yards in the running game.
