The role of closer was taken over by Frank Francisco in 2009 and Wilson was reinstated as the relief pitcher in late innings. For the 2010 season , Wilson took over his previous role as starting pitcher. He won Game 2 of the 2010 ALDS against the Tampa Bay Rays . In Game 1 of the 2010 ALCS , he did not allow the New York Yankees to run until the seventh inning and was taken out of the game in the eighth inning after having delivered two hits. In game 5 of the series, he allowed the Yankees to run five runs in the first three innings and received the loss.
