CART is a commercial data mining software from the US company Salford Systems . CART is widely used by insurance companies, banks, administration and everywhere where large data sets have to be processed.

Scope of services

The CART software is a data mining tool. The software is the original implementation of the classification and regression tree algorithm by Leo Breiman and is optimized for the implementation of this one statistical procedure. The decision trees created can be validated with CART and exported in the form of generated code of some programming languages .

Operating systems

CART is available for the Windows , Linux and Unix derivatives AIX , IRIX , HP / UX , Tru64 UNIX and Solaris operating systems on various hardware platforms ( i586 , AMD64 , Sun SPARC , RS / 6000 , Alpha , MIPS  4, HP 9000 ). Floating licenses are available that are bound to a specific workstation and can be used in the network.

Alternatives

Alternatives to CART are the commercial products Answer Tree and JMP . A free alternative is the GNU R .
