The Club Atlético Platense - known as Los Calamares , Tense and Marrón - is an Argentine sports club from Vicente López , a partido from the Gran Buenos Aires metropolitan area in the province of Buenos Aires , which is best known for its football department. The club colors are white and brown. The club's stadium is the Estadio Ciudad de Vicente López , with space for 31,000 spectators.
history
The association was founded on May 25, 1905. In 1910 they played in the Copa Bullrich and began that year in the second-rate Campeonato de Ascenso with em games. 1913 rose for the first time in the highest Argentine league, the Primera División . There they became Argentine runner-up behind Racing Club in 1916.
Platense played in the Primera División for many decades. In 1976 one won the title in the Nacional B. In 2006, by winning the Primera B Metropolitana, he returned to the second-class Nacional B, in which Platense is currently still active. Well-known former players in Europe include the French international David Trezeguet , who started his career at CA Platense.
