The Chanrionhütte is a refuge of the Swiss Alpine Club (SAC) in the Valais Alps . It is located south of the Barrage de Mauvoisin at an altitude of 2462 m above sea level. M. The hut is owned by the Geneva Section and was built in 1890 in the usual wooden construction with one storey and an attic. In 1912 the hut was expanded with an additional cross gable extension, also a wooden structure. After this enlargement it offered 42 places. In 1938 the stone building visible today with 50 seats was erected, which was later supplemented by a semicircular extension. A special feature was the perseverance of the hut keeper Hubert Bruchez, who looked after the hut from 1919 to 1969.
The Chanrionhütte is closed in summer 2020!
