The Susanfehütte is a refuge of the Swiss Alpine Club Section Yverdon in the Savoy Alps in the canton of Valais in Switzerland .
Location and operation
The hut is located south of the Dents du Midi in the Vallon de Susanfe, at the foot of the Haute-Cime at an altitude of 2101 m above sea level. M. and is operated and maintained by the Yverdon section of the Swiss Alpine Club.
history
The stone hut, built in 1960, is a stop on the multi-day alpine circular hikes around the Dents du Midi and hikes in the border area with France.
Approaches
- From Champéry (normal route) in 3½ to 4 hours, ascent 1160 meters in altitude, level of difficulty T3. Be careful when approaching the Pas d'Encel (often damp rock, fixed steel cable).
- From Barme / Champéry 2101 m above sea level. M. via Sous la Dent - Bonavau - Pas d'Encel 3½ hours, T3
- From Salvan VS via Van d'en Haut - Lac de Salanfe - Col de Susanfe in 6 hours, T3
- From Van d'en Haut in 4½ hours, T3
- From Les Marécottes via Emaney - Col d'Emaney - Lac de Salanfe - Col de Susanfe in 8 hours, T3
