Cabeça Boa is a town and municipality in north-eastern Portugal .

history

Here, at the archaeological site of Povoado do Castelo da Mina, there was probably a settlement since the Iron Age , which was expanded under Roman rule . The nearby Vila Maior was another, probably more important Roman town in today's municipality of Cabeça Boa.

In the Middle Ages , especially during the Reconquista , the place was abandoned and repopulated several times.

In 1884, the municipality of Cabeça Boa was expanded to include the previously independent municipality of Cabeça do Mouro.
