Açoreira is a town and municipality in northeastern Portugal .
history
Traces point to a settlement at least since the Castro culture . From the 2nd century BC The Romans ruled here , followed by Germanic tribes in the 5th century AD , which were replaced by the Arabs from 711 onwards. From the 8th century the place is documented as Assoreira or Assureira .

Açoreira is the seat of a municipality of the same name ( freguesia ) in the district ( concelho ) of Torre de Moncorvo in the Bragança district . 524 inhabitants live in it on an area of 24 km² (as of June 30, 2011).
