Cable Liner Shuttle from Doppelmayr is the name of a rail-mounted, cable-drawn system for transporting people with firmly clamped vehicles. The system works like a pendulum or funicular , d. H. the two vehicles commute in opposite directions between the two end stations. In contrast to a funicular, the Cable Liner Shuttle is designed for operation on a flat and relatively short route. Most of the systems implemented by 2014 were used to connect two terminals at larger airports.

The concept of such a system is based on a high passenger capacity on short distances and in spacious vehicles. Stops along the way are also possible, but they must be arranged in such a way that both vehicles can stop at a stop at the same time.

However, the system in Las Vegas consists of two independent systems: a path connecting the Mandalay Bay -Hotel and Excalibur hotel directly, the other has two intermediate stops. Since only one train is used on each system, the stops can be placed anywhere along the route.

The Cable Liner Shuttle is not to be confused with the MiniMetro available from Leitner . This system uses detachable vehicles, which can be decoupled from the constantly moving revolving rope while driving at any number of stops and can be stopped to change passengers. The original cable liner , of which a test section existed on the factory premises in Wolfurt, was, however, also designed according to this system. However, no commercial facility has yet been built. Recently, however, the manufacturer is planning to offer detachable versions again to increase the length and capacity of the tracks.
