River course
The Cache River has its origin in a nameless lake about 470 m high, 1.8 km north of the Trans-Labrador Highway . From there it initially flows 20 km to the northeast, where it flows through an elongated lake. The Cache River then turns east 10 km and finally changes direction south. Lake Anikutshash-nipi is located on the river at 30 km . At river km 17.5 the Trans-Labrador Highway crosses the Cache River. This finally flows into the Churchill River almost 100 km west-southwest of the Muskrat Falls . The Cache River drains an area of approximately 1070 km². The catchment area borders on that of the Metchin River to the west and that of the Pinus River to the north and east .
Wildlife
