The café + co International Holding GmbH (proper spelling: café + co ) is a group of companies operating in Austria and Central and Eastern Europe based in Vienna. The object of the company is the operation and service of self-service machines for hot beverages, cold beverages, snacks and sweets as well as the management of company restaurants. Café + Co has been operating self-service restaurants under the name Café + co Express since autumn 2017.

The beginnings of today's Café + Co Group go back to the establishment of Delikomat Betriebsverippe GmbH in 1972 and Vendare Warenhandelgesellschaft mbH, which was acquired in 1999, in 1973. Expansion into the states of Central and Eastern Europe began in the 1990s .

In 2000 all holdings were combined under the newly founded Café + Co International Holding and in 2002 Café + Co became the umbrella brand for the entire group.

Café + Co is a subsidiary of Leipnik-Lundenburger Invest Beteiligungs AG .

The group of companies has over 70,000 beverage and snack machines in ten countries. With over 1,900 employees, an annual turnover of over 206 million euros is achieved (as of 07/2018).

The new company headquarters in Vienna-Inzersdorf was opened in 2018. With a total volume of 15 million euros, the construction of the new headquarters was the largest single investment in the company's history.

Products

Café + Co deals with the operation and service of espresso machines and vending machines for hot drinks, cold drinks, snacks and confectionery , as well as the management of company restaurants . The fully automatic "Café + Co-Shops" can be found in companies as well as in public areas (offices, hospitals and petrol stations). In addition to coffees in the standard variants, there are own creations such as mocca cappuccino , chococino and coffee drink variations with flavors such as hazelnut , Irish, caramel and vanilla . Since 2006, specialty coffees for upscale office supplies and for events have been offered in a special premium line.

Since 2017, Café + Co has been operating self-service restaurants under the name Café + co Express , in which products such as mobile phone charging cables are also offered. The first Café + co Express location was opened in the North Hospital.

Sustainability and social commitment

The group has been a license partner of Fairtrade Austria since 2004 and a cooperation partner of the Rainforest Alliance since 2009 . Other product and supplier certificates in the Cafe + Co program are UTZ and 4C . The production of the Fairtrade coffee line Best African will gradually be relocated to Uganda in order to establish an even more direct relationship with the manufacturers, according to the company. As a further important step in its sustainability program , Café + Co introduced cups with proportions of natural raw materials in 2013. The proportion of alternative raw materials in the cups used is currently ten percent and should be increased to up to 50 percent in the next few years.

Café + Co supports, among other things, aid projects such as the Caritas Gruft with the coffee for the crypt campaign , Netzwerk Tirol helps with the economic hike , Pink Ribbon and Loose Tie of the Austrian Cancer Aid as well as various social projects in the Czech Republic and Slovenia through the in the federal states resident subsidiary.

Since 2011, Café + Co International Holding has been supporting the judo association Café + Co Samurai , which launched the Ippon Girls project in 2013 to promote equal opportunities for girls with a migration background in sport.
