Cafú , full name Luciano Barbosa de Jesús , (born May 25, 1972 in Rio de Janeiro ) is a Brazilian football player .

Career

The 1.81-meter-tall defensive player Cafú was at the beginning of his career from 1992 to 1993 in the ranks of the Rio de Janeiro-based club América . The 1993/94 season he spent at Chaco For Ever in Argentina Nacional B . From the Apertura 1995 to the second division season 1998 the Club Atlético Cerro in Uruguay was his employer. He then joined the Club Atlético Peñarol , for which he played from the Apertura 1999 to the Clausura 2002. During this period, the "Aurinegros" won the Uruguayan championship in 1999. In 2003 a station in China at Qingdao Hailifeng followed . From 2004 to the end of the 2005/06 season he was a player for Danubio FC . There he was Uruguayan champion with the Montevideans in 2004. For Danubio, Cafú played a total of 59 first division games and scored one goal. In the 2006/07 season he was under contract with the first division club Bella Vista . There he met the opponent's goal once in 24 first division appearances. He then played in 2007 in Ecuador for SD Aucas . This was followed by an engagement at Centro Atlético Fénix in the Clausura and the Apertura of the year 2008. During the 2007/08 season, four appearances (no goal) in the Primera División were recorded for him. At least in the Clausura 2009, the first division club Cerro Largo FC was his employer and was used in seven league matches (no goal).

After he was no longer active for almost two years due to a back injury sustained during his time at Cerro Largo and joined the amateur area of San Eugenio de Artigas , he has been in the squad of Club Atlético Rentistas since at least the 2013/14 season . There he completed 19 games (no goal) in the Primera División that season . In the 2014/15 season he was used seven times (no goal) in the top Uruguayan league and once (no goal) in the 2014 Copa Sudamericana . His last competitive game with the Montevideans dated May 3, 2015. In August 2016 he was a non-contract player and took part in the pre-season in a game of a selection of non-contract players against the Uruguayan first division club Sud América .
