Beaches and bays in Mallorca |
Cala Millor / Arenal de Son Servera refers to the northern section of the 1,800 meter long beach of Cala Millor in the east of the Balearic island of Mallorca . It is located in the south-eastern part of the municipality of Son Servera .
Location and description
At Cala Millor , a bay after which the town of Cala Millor was named, the municipal boundary runs between Son Servera in the north and Sant Llorenç des Cardassar, which is adjacent to the south . The place is also administered by both communities. The Cala Millor is part of the bay of Son Servera ( Badia de Son Servera ), a larger sea inlet in the east of Mallorca in the Llevant region between the Cap des Pinar and the Punta de n'Amer peninsula .
The approximately 400 meter long northern beach section, which belongs to the municipality of Son Servera, is separated by a low rock cut into a small beach and the main beach that begins south of it. To the north of the small beach is the ship landing stage of Cala Millor. Despite daily cleaning of the beach, seaweed deposits can occur, which are driven off by trucks via ramps between the small and large beaches. Loungers and parasols are available for hire on the main sandy beach. The Arenal de Son Servera ends in the south at Carrer del Sol Naixent and merges there into Platja de Sant Llorenç .
Behind Cala Millor is the beach promenade of the tourist resort of Cala Millor, which extends south to Cala Nau in front of the Punta de n'Amer peninsula and is called Passeig d'en Joan Llinàs in the area of Son Servera, named after its architect . On the promenade, which is not as wide here as further south in the area of Sant Llorenç, there are multi-storey hotels, restaurants and shops. From the small beach to the north, Passeig Marítim de Cala Millor leads towards Cala Bona .
Access
The main road MA-4026 from Son Servera towards the sea to Cala Millor leads to Plaça Eureka , a place right on the shore between the small and the main beach of the place. There is also a pavilion of the tourist information (Informatión Turística) of the municipality of Son Servera.
