The Caleta Beeche ( Spanish , in Argentina Caleta Matheu ) is a bay on the southeastern foothills of Wiencke Island in the Palmer Archipelago west of the Antarctic Peninsula . It is on the west side of Principal Point .
Chilean scientists named it after Eduardo Beeche Riofrío, captain of the Rancagua on the 11th Chilean Antarctic Expedition (1956–1957). The background of the Argentine naming is not deposited.
