The Caliente Hill ( English ; Spanish Cerro Caliente , 'Hot Hill' ) is a 107 m high and geothermally heated hill on Deception Island in the archipelago of the South Shetland Islands . It rises west of the Albufera Lagoon and 400 m inland from the end of the southwestern part of Fumarole Bay .
Spanish scholars named it descriptively. The UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee transferred the designation in 2010 in a partial translation into English. The hill belongs to the Antarctic Specially Protected Area # 140 (Sub-site C).
