Callitris roei grows as an evergreen shrub or small tree that can reach heights of up to five meters. The stiff branches go upright from the trunk and have curved branches.

The green to light blue-green leaves are three to five millimeters long. Her back is keeled.

The male cones stand individually on the branches and are egg-shaped with a length of up to three millimeters. The spherical to flattened-spherical, female cones stand together individually or in groups, have a short, stiff stem and are up to two centimeters thick. Each cone consists of six thick cone scales and usually carries six seeds. After ripening, they remain on the branches for several years before they release the seeds and fall off. The chestnut-brown seeds have one or two irregularly shaped wings, the larger of which can be about four millimeters wide.

Callitris roei is classified as "endangered" in the IUCN Red List . It is pointed out, however, that a new review of the hazard is necessary. The main reason given is logging.

Systematics
