Caloplaca ochracea (Schaer.) Flagey is a species of lichen fromthe Teloschistaceae family .

Macroscopic features
Caloplaca ochracea is a crusty lichen, that is, its bed ( thallus ) lies closely on the base. The thallus is thin, grainy, white-gray with yellowish spots. The apothecia are 1 to 1.5 mm in diameter. The apothecary disk is brown to rust-red. The edge of the apothecia is the same color as the thallus.
Microscopic features
The spores are hyaline , 4-celled, 22–29 µm × 5–8 µm.
Spot reaction
The thallus turns violet (K +) and the apothecium carmine red (K +) when it is drizzled with potassium hydroxide .
