The Cam Beck is a watercourse in Cumbria , England . It arises to the west of the Green Rigg from the confluence of various unnamed short tributaries. It initially flows in a generally westerly direction before it takes a southerly direction after reaching Kirkcambeck . The Cam Beck flows northeast of Irthington from the right into the River Irthing .
The Cam Beck passes the former Roman fort Camboglanna , which monitored a crossing over the watercourse. In the early 19th century, the camp was also known as Cambeck Fort .
