from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Camerata Bariloche is a chamber music ensemble from Argentina . It was founded in 1967.

founding

The idea for the foundation comes from the conductor Alberto Lysy , who also organized the “Festival de Música de Cámara” in Buenos Aires with local and foreign musicians. Many of these musicians also used their stay in Argentina to teach master classes and workshops in Bariloche .

In 1967 Lysy organized a series of experiments with these musicians at the headquarters of the Fundación Bariloche in the Villa Soria Moria in the Llao Llao district and realized the first concert in the Biblioteca Sarmiento de Bariloche on September 17, 1967 with the self-proclaimed "Camerata Bariloche".

The Camerata Bariloche was originally financed by the Fundación Bariloche (Bariloche Foundation), but soon afterwards it became financially independent.

Since its inception, the ensemble has performed more than 2500 concerts and completed around 25 international tours. So far, 31 records and CD releases have appeared. The Camerata Bariloche was awarded the “Premio Konex de Platino” in Argentina.
