Cameron Guess

Cameron Guess (born August 24, 1936 in New York , † December 12, 1997 in Winter Springs , Florida ) was an American animator and film producer.

Life

Guess joined the National Film Board of Canada in the late 1950s , where he was active as a producer, director and animator. A large inheritance enabled him to leave the NFB in 1963. Instead, he founded his own animation film studio Cameron Guess & Friends in San Francisco in 1964 . The result was the two short animated films The Well (1965) and The Shepherd (1967), which Guess produced. For The Shepherd , Guess received an Academy Award nomination in 1971 for Best Animated Short Film . Jeff Hale , Derek Lamb and Barrie Nelson starred in the films . Guess retired from the film business in the late 1960s and settled in Florida, where he died in 1997.
