Camillo Brandhuber

Camillo Brandhuber (born October 28, 1860 in Sigmaringen , † February 18, 1931 in Rottenmünster Abbey ) was a German Catholic clergyman and member of parliament .

Life

From 1900 he was pastor in Meßkirch . From 1901 he gave Latin lessons to Martin Heidegger and his brother Fritz . In 1903 he arranged a scholarship for the talented Martin Heidegger to visit the Konradihaus in Konstanz , an archiepiscopal study home for the training of future clergymen.

In 1906 he came from Meßkirch to Hechingen as the town pastor . He was "a highly talented folk man and speaker and, against his will, moved into the foreground of political life".

From 1908 to 1918 he was a member of the Prussian House of Representatives in Berlin for the Center Party and from 1918 to 1922 a member and president of the regional association of the Hohenzollern Lands in Sigmaringen.

Because of his political activity, he was only able to carry out his pastoral duties in a small parish. That is why he came to Benzingen from Hechingen via Dettingen in 1917 . He is buried in Hechingen.
