The Camoghè is at a height of 2227.9 m above sea level. M. and above all with its location east above the Magadino plain one of the most important mountains in the Swiss canton of Ticino . According to SOIUSA , it belongs to the Comer Prealps (SOIUSA) within the Lugano Prealps (SOIUSA) .
The mountain stands relatively close to the Italian border (approx. 1.5 km) entirely on Ticino soil. A little further to the east, behind the border, lies the Pizzo di Gino , the highest mountain in the Como Prealps .
The north-west flank is the territory of the distant municipalities of Medeglia and Cadenazzo , the eastern flank belongs to Sant'Antonino TI , the south side to several municipalities. A ridge runs to the southeast to the mountains Monte Segor ( 2097 m ) and Gazzirola ( 2116 m ) on the Italian border. The Cima Calescio ( 2035 m ) is located on the west ridge
